Yusheng Feng

Dr. Feng is a Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at UT San Antonio, and the Director and co-Founder of NSF-Sponsored Center for Simulation Visualization and Real-Time Prediction (SiViRT). His research areas involve bioheat transfer equations and cell damage modeling, computational bioengineering and biomedicine, mathematical modeling and computer simulations for cancer applications, multi-scale modeling for tumor growth prediction. Additionally, he has worked on treatment planning and real-time control for nanoparticle-mediated thermal therapy induced by laser. His latest research interest takes him to modeling cell behaviors and cell states using multi-omic data. Starting form genomic expression, to proteomic loss/gain function, which leads to pathological signaling pathway, for charactering cell states.

As a recipient of NIH/K25 career award, he specialized on integrative modeling of image-guided cancer treatment simulation. Dr. Feng was awarded the Excellence of Research Award and named as the Innovator of the Year at UTSA. He is a recipient of J. Tinsley Oden faculty fellowship from 2014 to 2017. Also, he received the first visiting faculty fellowship award from newly established Dell Medical School at UT Austin.
