The overall goal of my research is to develop a predictive mathematical model linking the in vitro and in vivo scales of glioma tumor response to radiation. Previous models of tumor response to radiation have been developed at the in vitro and in vivo (murine) scales separately; however, we are interested in whether integrating information across spatial scales could improve predictive accuracy of tumor growth and treatment response. Ultimately, we hope that a mathematically-informed multiscale approach to tumor modeling could be used to better inform treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
