Dr. Anna Sorace

Anna Sorace, Ph.D., joined The University of Texas at Austin in January of 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Dell Medical School. She received an engineering degree from Mississippi State University and then completed a M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Sorace completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University in the Radiology Department, Institute of Imaging Science prior to moving to UT.

Her research focuses on multimodality imaging to improve detection, monitoring and therapy of diseases in both preclinical and clinical cancer research. Specifically, her research includes identifying quantitative imaging biomarkers for early response to breast cancer treatment and utilizing them to guide and improve drug delivery. Dr. Sorace and her husband, Anthony, along with their daughter, enjoy the everlasting summer in TX by spending time on Lake Travis. They also enjoy running, college athletics, and exploring anything outdoors.
